Manuel Antonio Quepos a 1 hour from Jacó.
One of the most impressive landscapes in Costa Rica and the world, Manuel Antonio is an excellent blend of white-sand beaches, crystalline waters, and colorful reefs in the midst of soaring mountains and tropical rainforest that spills onto beaches – a wide variety of land and sea tropical biodiversity. Here live 109 species of mammals, including three species of monkeys, three- and two-toed sloths, and more than 180 bird species.
In 2011, Forbes magazine chose Manuel Antonio National Park as one of the 12 most beautiful parks in the world. On the way to Manuel Antonio, we will travel along spectacular coastline and enjoy the scenery, through African palm plantations and rustic villages along the Pacific. We finally arrive at the Port of Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
The national park is closed to vehicles, so we'll walk to the entrance, crossing a river in the process. Once inside the park, you can relax and enjoy the beach, sunbathe, or hike along the park's trails, where you'll see a diverse selection of monkeys, iguanas, birds, and possibly three-toed sloths. One of the trails borders Cathedral Point, where the panoramic view of the park and ocean is quite impressive.
Leap to the second most beautiful park in our wondrous world, Manuel Antonio. The meaning of adventure must be unfurling in the infinite swirling of young palm fronds. If you look intently enough you may decipher the grand design of life in the footprints left by ancient world iguanas in the soil. Follow the trail until it opens onto the most eternal of all life forms, the wise and welcoming sea. A white sand beach is mother na-ture’s invitation to rest and become one with the infinite horizon. Do not return until you have found that deep calm, until your mind has cleared away the details of the journey and found its sacred rhythm between the edge of the sea and the edge of the sky. For where the sky and the sea meet is ever changing and ever con-stant just like you. As you slip between the covers, slip into that eternal meeting of tranquil blue and close your eyes to return to the eternity of you.
